Your Golf Game has not launched. This document was written from what the software actually does — the data it stores, the services it sends data to, the controls it offers — so that it is accurate rather than boilerplate. It has not had legal review, and it should not be relied on as a binding agreement by anyone, including us, until it has.
What this is
Your Golf Game is a place to log your rounds, keep your gear, and connect with other golfers and the courses you play. These terms cover using it. The Privacy Policy covers what we do with your data; the two go together.
The app has not launched. It is in active development, features change and occasionally disappear, and data may be reset. Do not treat it as a system of record for anything that matters to you yet.
Your account
- You are responsible for what happens under your account. Use a password you do not use elsewhere.
- One account per person. Do not sign up as someone else, or pretend to be them.
- New accounts are reviewed before they are approved while the app is pre-launch.
- You can delete your account at any time from the Account page.
What you post
Your scores, photos, messages and course corrections stay yours. By posting them you give us permission to store and display them inside the app according to your privacy settings — nothing more. We do not claim ownership and we will not sell them.
Corrections you contribute to shared course data — scorecards, hole layouts, ratings — become part of that shared record so other golfers benefit from them. Those are attributed to you.
How to behave
Do not use this app to:
- harass, threaten or impersonate anyone;
- post anything unlawful, or anything you have no right to post;
- falsify scores in a competition, league or match another golfer is relying on;
- collect other people's information, by scraping or otherwise;
- break, overload or probe the service.
We can suspend or remove an account that does these things. If someone is treating you badly, report them from their profile.
Handicaps are not official
The handicap index this app computes is not an official handicap index. Your Golf Game is not a licensed handicap authority, and many course ratings here come from an older imported data set that may be out of date. Use it for your own games and this app's leagues. Where an official index is required, use the one from your club.
Courses, payments and events
Where a course takes orders or payments through this app, your purchase is with that course, not with us. Card payments are processed by Stripe. Prices, availability, collection and refunds are the course's to honour. We will help where we can, but we are not the seller.
No warranty
The app is provided as-is, without warranty. It is pre-launch software: it may be unavailable, it may lose data, and scores or standings it derives may be wrong. Do not rely on it where being wrong would cost you something.
Ending it
You can stop using the app and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Some things survive that: rounds on a shared scorecard remain part of the other golfers' records, and contributions to shared course data stay in the course record.
Changes
These terms will change, particularly before launch. Material changes will be flagged in the app rather than quietly swapped in.
